Over 32,000 households in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon face wait times of up to 20 years for affordable housing, according to a report from the Region of Peel. The region is urging the province to raise Ontario Works payments by at least $150 to meet rising living costs and improve access to housing and mental health services. Funding gaps in Peel exceed $868 million annually, exacerbating the crisis.
